Snowed in for Christmas review

Sarah Morgan is an author I have found I can always trust to write a festive book with all the Christmassy feelings that I can get lost in. The first Sarah Morgan book I read was Snowed in for Christmas in 2022 which I loved and have reread yearly since.

Snowed in for Christmas follows both the Miller siblings, Ross, Alice and Clemmie, who all have secrets they are trying to hide from their family and Lucy who is dealing with a Christmas on her own and potentially losing her job so is determined to get business from Ross. When she goes to deliver a proposal to his family home however she is mistaken for Ross’s girlfriend and by the time she can leave she is snowed in and stuck in Scotland with the Millers for Christmas.

There are so many parts of this book that I love and each time I read the book I find more things that I love and my enjoyment grows.

I love spending time with all of these characters and for different reasons too. Nanna Jean has to be my favourite character in the whole book. She has some of my favourite scenes and always makes me laugh so much but is a great addition to the story and support for the other characters.
We get the perspective of a lot of our characters in the book and that is really well done. By getting the perspectives of so many of the characters it feels like you really get to know both the characters and the story.

Lucy is a really special character to follow and by following her we really get to know the Miller siblings and see the family as an outsider. Lucy’s story in this book is probably up there as one of my favourite stories and character developments that we follow in the book.

Clemmie’s is probably my other favourite story that we follow and the way Nanna Jean tackles that really lets her sine. I would love a book with just Clemmie and Fergus because they have such a special relationship, and I would love to spend as much more time as possible with this family. Clemmie also has a lot that she deals with in the book and that just adds to the cozy family feeling that Snowed in for Christmas is full of.

That being said I love this entire story so much and everything about it. There is such a special family and festive feeling that comes with the story and due to that I love rereading this book in December and I think that I’m now going to make this a yearly thing because I love kicking off my festive feelings with the Miller family. It truly gets me into the festive feeling.

If you couldn’t tell from this review I absolutely love this book and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy festive read. In my festive book ranking this is definitely one of the top festive books that I have read since I started tracking my reading.

Lovelight Farms book review

Lovelight Farms follows Stella who owns a Christmas tree farm currently facing some issues, so she enters an influencer competition to try and win some money and publicity but on the application, she lies and says she has a boyfriend. Luca, her best friend of almost a decade, agrees to fake date her for a week. For most of the book we follow Stella’s perspective but there is the odd chapter from Luca’s perspective.  Along with Stella and Luca, we frequently see Beckett and Layla who also work at the Christmas tree farm and I look forward to learning more about them in their books. I liked the characters and enjoyed reading as they moved from friends to something more. There were a couple of things that I wasn’t a massive fan of surrounding the characters but it was a five star read and when surrounded by everything else they were easy enough to let slide.  I was a massive fan of the setting and just loved the Christmas vibes, I can only imagine that while they are based...

The Tanglewood Bookshop book review

This was my first Christmas read of the Year and it was a great one to kick off with. Once I was hooked I couldn't stop reading and ending up binging almost 200 pages in one day. I loved so many of the characters and the setting was so cosy, and ideal for a book lover.  The Tanglewood Bookshop follows Kazz who on the same day learns she has lost her job, is being evicted and her mum is moving to Spain so she decides to visit her best friend who owns a Tea Shop in the small Welsh village of Tanglewood. Where she is given the chance to open a Bookshop and meets Saul who is happy to show her around but she has been told doesn't have the best reputation.  This was a fantastic cosy Christmas read and it included so many things I love about festive books. The characters were the ideal book lovers to follow and as a book lover reading about book lovers is always a great experience. It was also nice that compared to many other book lovers whose lives revolve around books (which...

The Coast is Clear book review

The Coast is Clear follows Izzy, a 26 year old widow with two young boys, who is ready for a new start so moves to live near her brother Luke. With Luke's help she finds the ideal house for her and her young boys, the owner, Zander, being her brother best friend and she finds that she begins to fall for as they spend more time together.  This was a quick read that I couldn't put down and found to be really heartwarming. I couldn't put it down and wanted to continue to read about these characters who I really loved reading about.  Izzy and Zander were both well developed and complex characters who understood each other really well and were characters that I wanted to learn more and more about and found their backstories to be well built into the plot and not just there for the sake of the characters having some dramatic backstory. Izzy clearly always looked out for the boys best interests and doing her best to create the best environment she could for them. Her grief was ...
