I love this book so much and it amazes me how true Holly Bourne's writing is compared to real teenage experiences at schools now a days. So many of the feelings or things in this book were stuff I related to and I'm truly shocked how close it all is to my personal experiences.
The Yearbook follows Paige who is a quiet person both at home at school but normally notices everything so when she meets someone in the pages of library books and enough becomes enough she needs to decide what she wants to do and how she will do that.
I love this book so much! I read it for the first time last year and immediately gave it five stars but I think I loved it even more upon reread a year and a half later. There was a lot more I connected with and was stuff I see in my own life now I'm older which means that I enjoyed it more and had a better time reading it.
One of my favourite parts of this book is booksifting and just how much both Elijah and Paige love books. I want a friendship like theirs! I also relate to a lot of the ways Paige feels and it makes me feel nice to see a character feel the same way about things as me. Elijah is also a great character and I love him, he did so much for Paige and was just a great friend.
I do not understand how Holly Bourne makes this book so true for what teenagers experience and how we feel but she does and I adore it. I tabbed and annotated this book so much (using a red pen, iykyk) and I will forever recommend it. Holly Bourne is one of my all time favourite authors at this point, a UKYA author I always recommend and an author whose entire backlist I am desperate to read.
